Wilhelm Gdanietz was a German landscape, portrait, genre and interior painter as well as graphic artist born in 1893 in Mainz. He became deaf in 1895. From 1902-08 he was a pupil at the Osnabrück Institute for the Deaf and Mute and then studied from 1911-18 at the Düsseldorf Academy under Claus Meyer.
